Welcome to the Power of Story Project, a non-profit venture dedicated to preserving and promoting the art of telling and listening to our personal stories. Telling our stories enables us to heal, entertain, connect, love, understand, explore, teach, learn, inspire, grow, and enact our humanity fully. Our stories define who we are are as individuals, families and communities. They are as important as breathing.
Telling and listening to each others' stories creates community, and encourages understanding of diverse viewpoints. In order to live in a peaceful and just world, we need to learn to listen and understand. When someone opens his or her heart and invites us into a personal story, we see commonalities instead of differences.
